Mexico: First Phase of MetroRed is Already Underway

With the aim of improving the quality of life of its inhabitants, MetroRed, a modern transportation system that is transforming mobility, was inaugurated in San Luis Potosí, Mexico.

It is an advanced transportation system that will revolutionize mobility in the metropolitan area. The system includes new infrastructure, exclusive lanes and buses equipped with state-of-the-art technology.

The units have all the amenities such as massage seats, air conditioning, USB ports and security cameras. They also have WiFi and eight security cameras, which will be monitored by the Ministry of Public Safety, guaranteeing passenger safety.

First Phase

The buses are designed for people with disabilities, providing accessible and adequate spaces.
In this first stage, MetroRed will have 30 buses of 12 meters in length, with capacity for 100 passengers, including people with disabilities and assistance dogs.

The implementation of MetroRed also seeks to promote sustainable mobility by replacing 67 vehicles per bus, thus reducing the environmental impact and contributing to more efficient and cleaner transportation.

San Luis de Potosi authorities revealed that there are plans to launch a second network in January 2024, which will connect from Ciudad Satellite to Alameda.

In June of the same year, the third stage will be implemented, which will cover the entire Circuito Potosí and connect all the neighborhoods on the outskirts of the city.
