Mexico: MercadoLibre Quadrupled Electric Vehicle Fleet

MercadoLibre reported that it now has a fleet of 900 electric vans for last mile delivery in Mexico, 400% more than it had a year ago.

The company highlighted in an official statement that this is a great sum of ecological efforts and emissions reduction, with 28 % of all energy used coming from wind and solar sources.

In this sense, Guadalupe Marín, Regional Director of Sustainability at MercadoLibre, pointed out that they are focused on deepening the positive impact of their ecosystem, reducing geographical and socioeconomic gaps.

“We seek to be increasingly efficient in reducing the environmental impact of our growth. It is a path of continuous improvement, collective, and with many challenges ahead, in an industry as dynamic as it is exponential, both in Mexico and in the rest of the region,” she commented.
