Samuel García, Governor of Nuevo León (NL), stated that he hopes that after the U.S. presidential elections, which will be held on November 5, Tesla will ratify the installation of the Gigafactory in Santa Catarina.
“We have more than 60 electromobility suppliers, four loaders, Navistar, Kia, BYD and Marcopolo; we are waiting for November 5 to see what the friends from the North and my compadre Elon Musk decide to see if he already confirms us,” said the state governor.
It is worth remembering that in July, Musk paused the investment of his plant in Mexico due to Donald Trump’s factor, whom he has openly supported during his campaign.
State Growth
During the Bloomberg NEF Monterrey Forum, the Governor highlighted the development of the electromobility industry.
“Nuevo Leon is the great champion, 48% of automotive projects, that is, half, are electromobility or electromobility suppliers and this has us today, according to Omron, as the State that ranks first in electromobility suppliers in all of Latin America, having a large part of the Tier 1, 2 and 3 of this industry,” he highlighted.
In addition, the President boasted that the state is a destination for global companies.
“On the one hand, we receive one per week, but perhaps the most important thing is that those that are already here are expanding,” he stressed.
