During the presentation of identification plates for electric vehicles used in federal transport and its auxiliary services, Mexico’s Undersecretary of Communications and Transport (SICT), Rogelio Jiménez Pons, highlighted that this initiative represents a significant advancement in favor of the environment.
Accompanied by the General Directors of Federal Transport, Laura Nohémi Muñoz Benítez, and BY Delectrico, Lorena Martínez Álvarez, Rogelio Jiménez Pons emphasized that these initiatives reflect a commitment to the environment, society, and communities.
He also noted that significant changes will be necessary to foster a culture of environmental responsibility. On the other hand, during her speech, the General Director of Federal Transport pointed out that outstanding work has been done in the transport sector, addressing key issues such as electrification.

She stressed the importance of continuing to join efforts to achieve the goal of decarbonization and reducing pollutant emissions in the vehicles providing federal transport services in the country.
Plates in Mexico and electromobility
The plates for these vehicles will serve to identify them and offer several benefits to users, such as the exemption from presenting the Certificate of Contaminant Emissions when applying for federal transport plates, as well as other benefits provided by various authorities.
In this regard, SICT remains firmly committed to developing policies aimed at advancing transport in the country, addressing the global need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Finally, the challenges of climate change demand that the automotive industry in Mexico meet basic mobility needs in a way that is sustainable, safe, accessible, and, above all, without harmful emissions to public health.
