On Friday, September 17, Latam Mobility, a leading organization promoting sustainable mobility in Latin America and the Caribbean, sealed the participation on the first day of the Spanish event Movieléctrica 2021, a meeting point between public and private sectors from Spain to promote electric mobility.
The Sustainability & Communications Leader of Latam Mobility, Jessica Ordóñez, moderated the panel called “Infrastructures to Develop Electric Mobility in Latin American Cities”, where leading industry representatives, such as Nazareth Black, CEO of the manufacturer Zacua, and Daiana Suligoy, Business Developer of Smod Argentina, unveiled their brands’ main know-how in the field.
“The infrastructure surrounding sustainable mobility must be developed to ensure the use of electric vehicles becomes practical and comfortable,” said Black, when asked about the necessary improvements to be implemented to increase users’ confidence on electric technology.
Along the same lines, Alvaro Villasante, Business Management and Innovation Vice-President of Grupo Energía Bogotá, and strategic advisor of Latam Mobility, led the panel “Promotion Policies and Strategies for Boosting Electric Mobility in Latin America”, where quantitative advances, regulations and progress on the value chain were topics of discussion.
The panel included Leonardo Beltrán, former Undersecretary of Energy of Mexico & Board Member of Sustainable Energy for All; and Oliverio García, president of the ANDEMOS Association, among others.
“The transportation sector is essential for the goals set by Mexico. Last year, 24,200 electric and plug-in hybrid cars were sold”, revealed Beltrán.
