Samsung Latin America Meets with Nuevo Leon Authorities for Electromobility Projects

The Governor of Nuevo Leon, Samuel Garcia, held a meeting with Samsung Latin America executives to evaluate the implementation of electromobility and green energy projects in the state.

The State Governor received Hyeon Cheol Choo, General Director of Samsung C&T in Latin America, accompanied by Iván Rivas Rodríguez, Secretary of Economy, as well as Hernán Villarreal Rodríguez, Secretary of Mobility and Urban Planning, and Emanuel Loo, Undersecretary of Investment of the Ministry of Economy.

Garcia Sepulveda recalled that last year he made a working tour to the Asian continent and it was there where there was a first approach with the company’s executives. Therefore, now that they have been received in the State, he took the opportunity to show them the attractions that Nuevo Leon has to offer.

Iván Rivas Rodríguez explained that the purpose of this first visit of Samsung investors is to analyze projects together with Nuevo León on electromobility, specifically issues on charging stations, in addition to promoting renewable energy projects.

“The visit goes hand in hand with what we are doing to turn Nuevo León into the largest electromobility hub in Latin America and also has to do with what we are doing with the Agency for the Promotion and Use of Renewable Energies, these green energy projects,” said the official.

For this year, there are projects of more than 100 companies interested in investing in the state, with resources of approximately 10 billion dollars.

These are automotive, electromobility and information technology companies from the United States, China and the rest of the world.
