Spain has taken an important step in its relationship with India by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility and the Ministry of Railways of the Republic of India.
The purpose of this agreement is to promote collaboration in the development of infrastructure and rail transport in both countries, thus strengthening cooperation in key areas of mobility and development.
The signing of the memorandum took place in Vadodara, as part of the institutional visit by the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, who is in India to foster strategic relationships in technology, sustainability, and transport.

In this diplomatic mission, Sánchez is accompanied by the Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, Óscar Puente.
Agreement Objectives
This MoU will facilitate the sharing of knowledge and advanced technologies in the railway sector, as well as the exploration of joint projects that include the development of sustainable infrastructure.
Spain, with its expertise in high-speed rail and complex infrastructure projects, and India, which is rapidly modernizing its transport network, will mutually benefit from this agreement.
Cooperation in this field positions both nations as key players in rail innovation and sustainability. Ultimately, alliances like this strengthen the relationship between Spain and India and open the door to future projects that promote more efficient, safe, and eco-friendly transportation for both countries.
