Spain and Portugal Count on 75 Porsche Iberica Charging Stations

Precisely on its 75th anniversary, Porsche inaugurated the 75th site for ultra-fast charging stations promoted by Porsche Iberica.

According to information from the German brand’s press room, this is the Iberdrola station in Salamanca, equipped with eight high-power chargers.

Located on the A-62 highway and accessible from both directions of traffic, it is a strategic point for the development of electromobility.

On the one hand, it will be able to serve users in an area of Spain where high-power chargers were not very numerous.

On the other hand, it will increase the charging possibilities on journeys from east to west, connecting Spain and Portugal, and from north to south on the busy and attractive Ruta de la Plata.

Benjamin Bartsch, Director of Charging Network & Smart Mobility at Porsche Iberica, said the station marks a significant milestone in the collaboration with Iberdrola and is further proof of the commitment to sustainable mobility.

“We will continue to move forward, innovate and collaborate to make sustainable mobility a reality for everyone. Thanks to our ultra-fast charging network, it is now possible to travel without limitations in electric vehicles throughout the Iberian territory,” he added.

For his part, Jorge Muñoz, Director of Smart Mobility at Iberdrola, pointed out that they already have almost 4,000 operational charging points, of which 800 have been installed this year. They estimate that by the end of 2023 they will practically double the number they had twelve months earlier”.

This inauguration is another step forward for the extension of an adequate ultra-fast charging infrastructure, in which Porsche Iberica is playing a decisive role.

In this regard, Tomas Villen, General Manager of Porsche Iberica, stressed that they participate directly or indirectly in the installation of 50% of the high-power chargers that exist in Spain and Portugal, when they represent only 0.3% of the total market, which demonstrates the great support of the brand with sustainable mobility.
