The Secretary of Mobility of the State of Mexico (Edomex), Daniel Sibaja, received three bus manufacturers to learn about, size and review the functionality of the electric and hybrid public transportation units that will be considered for five medium-capacity corridors.
According to local press, the official met with Volvo Buses Mexico, Foton and Yutong, brands that presented four units.
The objective is to renew and revolutionize the public transportation systems in the state and thus improve the standard of living and quality of life of users with decent means of transportation.

Generalized Initiative
Sibaja assured that modernizing public transportation will be a reality. In the Valley of Mexico, technical operational studies are being carried out in three corridors that will connect the municipalities of Zumpango, Jaltenco, Nextlalpan, Tonanitla, Tecámac and Ecatepec.
In the Toluca Valley, work is being done on two: Tenango, Metepec, Toluca and Zinacantepec, Toluca and Lerma.
Among the project’s attributes, the transportation systems must be environmentally friendly, modern, of medium capacity and with electronic fare collection.
In collaboration with the transportation companies, tests of electric and hybrid buses of the Chery-Miras, Yutong and IUSA brands have been carried out.
Electric vehicles from Volvo, BYD, Foton and Zhongtong will also be evaluated, as well as a Natural Gas bus from Ankai and a Euro 6 diesel bus from Volvo.
Latam Mobility closes tour in Mexico City
After a successful start to the year in Monterrey, Latam Mobility, the largest sustainable mobility community in Latin America, closes 2024 in Mexico City.
There will be two days, on October 15 and 16, where industry leaders and private sector representatives will provide perspectives on mobility, electromobility, sustainability, among others.
