Study Reveals 92% of Electric Vehicle Users Would Not Return to Combustion Cars

A study published by the Global EV Alliance reveals that 92% of electric vehicle (EV) owners are unwilling to switch back to combustion-engine cars.

The report highlights that only 1% would return to gasoline vehicles, while 7% would consider plug-in hybrids if necessary.

The survey results reflect a significant shift in the perception and usage of electric vehicles.

The study indicates that overall satisfaction and a decline in concerns about range suggest that EVs are ready to establish themselves as a dominant option in the automotive market.

Based on the opinions and experiences of the study participants—who included respondents from countries such as the United States, Canada, Austria, Brazil, France, and India—common factors stand out regarding their electric cars.

Factors Driving the Switch to Electric Mobility

  • Economic Efficiency: Respondents emphasized that charging costs are considerably lower than fuel costs, and maintenance is simpler and cheaper.
  • Driving Experience: EVs offer instant acceleration, smoother handling, and quieter operation.
  • Environmental Commitment: Most drivers reinforced their dedication to reducing carbon emissions, valuing the contribution of EVs to combating climate change.

However, many participants agreed that charging infrastructure remains a challenge for the full development of electromobility.

The charging network is still underdeveloped in certain regions. For those traveling long distances, the availability of fast-charging stations is crucial, considering that EV performance can still be unpredictable.
