After a program of development and testing, the new 911 model equipped with a performance-focused hybrid propulsion system is ready to begin series production.
“For the first time in the 61-year history of our icon, we have installed a hybrid system in a road-going 911,” said Frank Moser, Vice President of the 911 and 718 Model Lines.
“During development, we left nothing to chance and tested the new 911 in all kinds of conditions worldwide. From freezing cold to scorching heat, as was the case during the final stages of testing in Dubai,” he continued.

“Whether under heavy engine load in the demanding conditions of mountain passes or in the stop-and-go traffic of an urban environment, the hybrid 911 has confidently overcome even the most challenging hurdles. In total, our engineers and drivers have covered more than five million kilometres,” he concluded.
Porsche Testing
The testing and tuning conducted at the Nürburgring Nordschleife were crucial in the 911’s development. During this phase, Porsche ambassador Jörg Bergmeister completed a lap in 7:16.934 minutes, outperforming the previous equivalent model by 8.7 seconds.
The car was equipped with standard road tyres and the aerodynamic kit with a fixed rear wing, available as an option for several generations of the 911, providing increased aerodynamic downforce at high speeds.
“The new 911 has become significantly faster on the track. We have more grip, much more power, and the immediate response of the high-performance hybrid system, which is a great advantage,” stated Bergmeister.
