The Medellín Metro Offers Mobility Options to Tourists in Partnership with Turibus

In recent years, Medellin has become an attractive tourist hub in Colombia and Latin America. The city aspires to be certified as an Intelligent Tourism Destination (ITD), where development is planned through aspects of governance, innovation, technology, sustainability and accessibility.

According to figures from the Mayor’s Office of Medellín, during 2022, approximately 1,400,000 people visited the city, 200,000 more than projected by the authorities.

One of the key aspects for a city to be attractive not only for those who live there, but also for foreign visitors, are the mobility options and public transportation. For this reason, Metro de Medellín, a reference system in the metropolis, carries out several actions to provide an optimal service.

Thinking about the needs of tourists and seeing this business opportunity in alliance with the company Turibus, which has more than 20 years of experience in the sector, the Metro Go brand was created to offer tourist plans in the city.

In this sense, Metro will provide its facilities for commercialization and the partner will be in charge of the operation.

How does it Work?

Tourist packages will be available for purchase at the Tourist Information Point established by Metro. The main objective of the initiative is to encourage visitors to connect using all the commercial lines to take tours such as the Graffi 13, visit the Arví Park and guided tours of downtown Medellín, among other experiences.

With this project, Metro de Medellín and Turibus seek to offer quality, coverage and greater connection to travelers.

In this way, Metro Go also becomes an opportunity for more people from Colombia and the rest of the world to know, live, enjoy and take care of the Metro Culture that promotes the care of others and the environment.

Under the brand, both companies will work together to promote and encourage responsible tourism in the Aburrá Valley.

It is worth mentioning that the Medellin Metro daily mobilizes an average of one million users, most of them are national and international visitors who choose this network composed of 12 lines to visit the attractions of the region.
