Uruguay to Have 100 New Charging Points for Electric Vehicles

Uruguay is preparing to take a significant step in electric mobility infrastructure, as over the next 12 months, eOne, a company providing charging solutions for electric vehicles, will install more than 100 new ultra-fast charging points across the country.

These new charging stations will allow electric vehicle drivers to recharge their batteries in under 30 minutes, making the transition to greener mobility smoother.

“Our goal is to provide a reliable, efficient, and, most importantly, accessible charging network for all electric vehicle users,” said Juan Collado, Director of eOne.

eOne plans to expand its network through strategic partnerships that will strengthen charging infrastructure throughout the country.

In the coming months, specifically during the first half of 2024, 18 additional chargers will be installed at high-demand locations, benefiting electric vehicle owners by reducing wait times for charging.

With this initiative, Uruguay is establishing itself as a leader in the adoption of green technologies in the region, setting a precedent in the push towards sustainable mobility.

“We know that one of the barriers to mass adoption of electric vehicles is the lack of adequate infrastructure. With this network of ultra-fast chargers, we hope that both individual users and businesses will see electric vehicles as a real and convenient alternative,” Collado added.
