VEMO Opens Mexico City’s First Multi-Purpose Electroline Station

During “Latam Mobility: Mexico 2023”, VEMO announced a key partnership with Siemens for the development and promotion of electromobility in the region.

Following the important partnership, the company inaugurated the first multi-purpose electric station in Mexico City, in line with its commitment to massify electric mobility.

The electric station, located in Polanco, has a capacity of up to 900 KW that will serve both VEMO Conduce’s own fleet, as well as those independent drivers who are part of the VEMO Impulso leasing program.

Innovative Ecosystem

VEMO highlights in a press release that the station will be easily located and paid for through the “Watts by VEMO” application, the first public mobile charging application in Mexico, which offers access to the company’s charging network.

VEMO has the most robust and reliable recharge network in Mexico, with more than 300 activated public chargers and an operation of more than 30,000 recharges per month, through its VEMO Charging Network (VCN) division.

Roberto Rocha, Co-Founder and CEO of VEMO, expressed his satisfaction for giving continuity to our goal of developing a clean mobility ecosystem, now with the charging infrastructure component in this innovative modality.

“We are convinced that, in order to advance in this transition to electromobility, efforts must be in parallel, i.e. vehicles, charging infrastructure and data technology. This electrolinera is a new example of the synergies of our integrated model,” he explained.

Germán Losada, Co-Founder, Chairman of the Board and Chief Operating Officer of VEMO indicated that with the VEMO Charging Network (VCN) solution they offer the opportunity to co-develop the network in various strategic points of the country, hand in hand with automotive brands, chargers, and other relevant participants committed to accelerate a clean mobility ecosystem, which is the founding purpose of VEMO.

Carlos Levy, Head of VEMO Charging Network, commented that VCN’s strategy is based on securing long-term strategic locations, developing high-utilization networks supported by an integrated fleet model with self-generated demand.

The inauguration of the electric station is in line with VEMO’s plans to accelerate the clean mobility ecosystem in the country and the region, aiming to reach more than 1,000 chargers by the end of 2024.
