VEMO announced the closing of a strategic equity round by Orion Infrastucture Capital (OIC) and joins Riverstone Holdings as the second U.S. fund specializing in sustainable infrastructure to invest in the Mexican company.

Organizational Confidence

OIC’s investment in VEMO marks an important milestone for the company, being the second U.S. fund specializing in sustainable infrastructure to invest in the company, following the investment made by Riverstone Holdings in 2021.

With Riverstone‘s positioning as one of the leading investors in the energy sector and, more specifically, in the decarbonization space in Mexico, OIC’s investment demonstrates a clear convergence of expertise and vision in the dynamic landscape of sustainable mobility.

“OIC’s investment validates VEMO’s thesis and role as a disruptive leader in the clean mobility space. We are proud to partner with another recognized and experienced fund that shares our vision of a sustainable and innovative future for mobility,” commented Roberto Rocha, Co-Founder and CEO of VEMO.

German Losada, Co-Founder, President and COO of VEMO, expressed his enthusiasm regarding the transaction with OIC: “On a personal level, this was an extraordinary opportunity to reconnect and work together with former colleagues from Riverstone and Goldman Sachs. Bringing OIC with Riverstone to the table will undoubtedly enrich us and contribute to the success of our mission, which is to accelerate the adoption of clean mobility in Latin America through our integrated and innovative model”.

Founded in July 2021 in Mexico City, VEMO is a company committed to clean mobility through a unique and innovative business model that includes the integration of vehicles, charging infrastructure, technology and a data intelligence platform for the optimal management of the entire clean mobility ecosystem.
