Vitesco Technologies presented its latest major innovation for the electromobility market worldwide. It is the High Voltage Box modular system.
This modular system seeks to revolutionize the electric vehicle market by making charging, energy conversion and distribution processes more economical and efficient.
By merging various functionalities into a single unit, the system allows up to 800 volts of voltage in the system, and meets the growing demand for efficient energy management in electric vehicles.

Features
The High Voltage Box system stands out for integrating an On-Board Charger, which includes the charger integrated into the vehicle for charging with alternating current (AC) on the grid with a power of up to 22 kW.
It is a direct current converter that provides the current for the vehicle’s 12 V network; and the power electronics that distributes the high-voltage energy in the vehicle and facilitates fast direct current (DC) charging with up to 800 volts.
According to a review by Portal Automotriz, this integration not only saves space, but also improves system reliability and reduces manufacturing costs.
Thomas Stierle, member of the Executive Board and head of the Electrification Solutions division of Vitesco Technologies, emphasized that charging, energy conversion and power distribution are as important to the driver’s satisfaction with his or her vehicle as they are to the vehicle’s drivability.
“With our High Voltage Box, we integrate these basic energy management tasks into one efficient and compact unit. This integration facilitates large-scale, low-cost electrification,” he said.
The modular and scalable design of the High Voltage Box system that Vitesco Technologies is introducing performs two or more functions with a single device. SiC technology is used to minimize unit conversion losses.
Within the modular design, Vitesco Technologies covers all relevant network topologies in Europe and worldwide, as the High Voltage Box system allows modular adaptation in different vehicles existing in the global market.
