Volvo Cars Chile Will Continue to Bring Electromobility to People Along with COPEC

Through a new alliance, the Scandinavian firm will provide its customers with the option of having Copec Voltex home chargers, one of the leading suppliers of electromobility in Chile and Latin America

In line with its local electromobility strategy, and the global goal of becoming a 100% electric company by 2030, Volvo Cars Chile has signed an alliance with Copec, which will make people’s lives easier by providing home chargers free of charge to all the company’s customers who purchase Volvo plug-in hybrid or electric vehicles.

“To advance Volvo Cars’ electromobility plan, it is extremely relevant to carry out alliances with strategic partners, such as Copec Voltex, in order to contribute to the development of the public and private charging network. We are very pleased to continue generating these links that are in line with the company’s global and local strategy of offering personal, sustainable and safe mobility,” said Rodrigo Espinoza, Manager of Volvo Cars Chile.

Promoting Sustainable Mobility

In this way, Volvo Cars will provide free home charging points for customers who purchase electric or plug-in hybrid models of the brand, with the professional and technical support of Copec Voltex.

The charger provided by Copec Voltex corresponds to a 7.4 kW wallbox type solution, which is managed from a mobile application that allows regulating power, schedules and obtain charging reports, delivering a comfortable, safe and intelligent experience.

Part of the Recharge strategy, promoted by Volvo Cars, at a global and local level, seeks to strengthen the public and private charging network, in order to make life easier for people who own plug-in vehicles and thus continue advancing on the road to achieving carbon neutrality by 2040.

Currently, Copec Voltex is present in Chile with the largest fast-charging network in South America, which connects 1,400 kilometers of the national territory, between the regions of Coquimbo and La Araucanía.

The company continues with the development of a public charging network that will cover the 52 communes of the Metropolitan Region. This allows Volvo Cars customers to charge their electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles without inconvenience wherever they are.
