{"id":10791,"date":"2022-07-01T07:27:41","date_gmt":"2022-07-01T12:27:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/?p=10791"},"modified":"2022-07-01T07:27:43","modified_gmt":"2022-07-01T12:27:43","slug":"enel-x-to-lead-charging-infrastructure-project-for-electric-buses-in-mexico-city","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/en\/enel-x-to-lead-charging-infrastructure-project-for-electric-buses-in-mexico-city\/","title":{"rendered":"Enel X to Lead Charging Infrastructure Project for Electric Buses in Mexico City"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A few weeks ago, Mexico City Mayor Claudia Sheinbaum unveiled a new mobility plan that seeks to strengthen the way people move around through a zero-emission and efficient public transportation system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to UN Habitat figures, Mexican cities suffer from serious environmental pollution problems, and the transportation sector is one of the main causes, contributing 20.4% of greenhouse gas emissions, of which 16.2% comes from the automotive subsector, mostly from travel by individual motorized transport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After the announcement, contacts with leading companies in electromobility began, resulting in the victory of Enel X specifically in the bidding contest for the installation of 25 charging stations, as well as the interconnection infrastructure for 51 electric buses of Line 3 of the Metrobus of the Mexican capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to information from the Enel Group, the charging stations will be intelligent and will supply a power of 4.5 megawatts, which is necessary for the operations of Line 3 and to improve its performance, optimize electric charging and reduce energy demand through the &#8220;Smart Charging&#8221; platform.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With an investment of US$4 million, the project will be executed in collaboration with Enel Green Power Mexico and will be the first electric mass transit line in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"538\" src=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/EN-1-1024x538.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10785\" srcset=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/EN-1-1024x538.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/EN-1-300x158.jpg 300w, https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/EN-1-768x403.jpg 768w, https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/EN-1-600x315.jpg 600w, https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/EN-1.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-expansion-plan\">Expansion Plan<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>With its presence in Mexico, Enel has operations in 30 countries, producing energy with a capacity of more than 90 gigawatts and distributing it through a network of more than 2.2 million kilometers to 75 million users. Meanwhile, Enel X is a business line in charge of offering services that drive innovation and energy transition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Country Manager of Enel Mexico, Bruno Riga said that the company is deeply motivated to expand its contribution so that the country can achieve its environmental goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Enel emphasizes through an official statement that its participation in public electric mobility is the beginning of a series of projects that it will promote in Mexico for the construction of more modern, intelligent and sustainable cities.
