With the goal of becoming carbon neutral and meeting the guidelines of the Paris Agreement in 2040, 10 years earlier than the pact states, Amazon continues to develop strategies in mobility and sustainability.

The e-commerce giant presented its first micromobility center in the United Kingdom, where electric bicycles will join the large fleet of electrified vehicles to continue leading the delivery system in an environmentally friendly way.

This initiative is part of the “Shipment Zero” program, which consists of delivering 50% of Amazon’s shipments with zero net carbon emissions by 2030.

The e-cargo bikes that the company has included will directly replace thousands of trips in traditional vans on London’s roads and reduce traffic congestion.

With the addition of electric delivery vans, electric cargo bikes and walkers, Amazon estimates to make more than five million last-mile deliveries a year in central London.
