{"id":12807,"date":"2022-09-21T07:35:21","date_gmt":"2022-09-21T12:35:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/?p=12807"},"modified":"2022-09-21T07:35:23","modified_gmt":"2022-09-21T12:35:23","slug":"enel-x-begins-testing-to-electrify-fleets-in-brazilian-cities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/en\/enel-x-begins-testing-to-electrify-fleets-in-brazilian-cities\/","title":{"rendered":"Enel X Begins Testing to Electrify Fleets in Brazilian Cities"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>In the midst of its leadership as one of the companies that focuses its efforts on the decarbonization of transportation in large cities, <strong>Enel X<\/strong>, the electromobility division of the <strong>Enel Group<\/strong>, will begin fleet electrification processes in Brazil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company recently announced the start of studies for the energy transition of buses in <strong>Curitiba (PR) and Angra dos Reis (RJ)<\/strong>. In Angra dos Reis, the initiative is one of the stages of an Expression of Interest Procedure in which Enel X is responsible for the technical, legal and economic analysis of the public-private partnership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The city government will test, for 30 days, a <strong>Marcopolo Attivi<\/strong> electric bus, equipped with Brazilian and imported technology, which will be operated by the municipal public transport concessionaire on one of the existing lines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-plans-in-curitiba\"><strong>Plans in Curitiba<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Regarding Enel&#8217;s operation in Curitiba, the city government presented on September 16 the electric bus of the Chinese manufacturer Higer, which will be tested for 20 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The municipality is also studying the electrification of the Inter 2 and East-West BRT corridors, with a forecast of approximately 150 battery electric vehicles operating in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In both cities, the tests will serve to evaluate indicators of maintenance and operation of the electronic system, in addition to autonomy, charging time and cost of operation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Read also:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/en\/renault-presents-range-of-electric-cars-to-be-launched-soon-in-latin-america\/\"><strong>Renault Presents Range of Electric Cars to be Launched Soon in Latin America<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-other-regions\"><strong>Other Regions<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to Curitiba and Angra,<strong> Enel X<\/strong> tested in January an articulated bus in partnership with <strong>BYD<\/strong> and <strong>Marcopolo <\/strong>in the metropolitan region of Goi\u00e2nia (GO) for about 60 days. In both projects, all the necessary charging infrastructure was provided by the energy company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Brazil, some cities are taking the first steps towards electrification. S\u00e3o Jos\u00e9 dos Campos (SP), for example, has invested in the fleet of the Green Line, <strong>the first 100% electric corridor in the country<\/strong>.
