{"id":13114,"date":"2022-09-28T07:28:45","date_gmt":"2022-09-28T12:28:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/?p=13114"},"modified":"2022-09-28T07:28:48","modified_gmt":"2022-09-28T12:28:48","slug":"vg-mobility-delivered-195-electric-buses-for-bogotas-public-transportation-system","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/en\/vg-mobility-delivered-195-electric-buses-for-bogotas-public-transportation-system\/","title":{"rendered":"VG Mobility Delivered 195 Electric Buses for Bogota&#8217;s Public Transportation System"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>With an ambitious investment of 60 million dollars, the Swiss company <strong>VIP Green Mobility<\/strong> (VGM) delivered <strong>195 electric buses to the public transportation system of Bogota<\/strong>, one of the leading cities in the region in terms of electromobility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the end of 2021, the company also made significant investments to take control of all outstanding shares of the firm <strong>VG Mobility Fontib\u00f3n<\/strong>, which were owned by <strong>Celsia Colombia<\/strong> and thus execute the contract for the provision of a fleet of electric vehicles, which additionally serves areas of the <strong>Integrated Public Transport System<\/strong> (SITP).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The buses will join the fleet of <strong>406 units that have been introduced since last year: <\/strong>120 in Fontib\u00f3n; 91 in Suba; and now 195 in Ciudad Bol\u00edvar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Read also:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/en\/enel-x-way-was-the-official-smart-charging-sponsor-for-extreme-es-visit-to-chile\/\"><strong>Enel X Way was the Official Smart Charging Sponsor for Extreme E\u2019s Visit to Chile<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-extensive-benefits\"><strong>Extensive Benefits<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>According to estimates published by <strong>VG Mobility<\/strong> in a press release, these vehicles travel <strong>43,000 kilometers per day, benefiting 145,000 people with new routes<\/strong>, clean commutes and reduced waiting time. In addition to Colombia, <strong>VGM <\/strong>is developing projects and strategies in <strong>Peru<\/strong>, <strong>Chile<\/strong>, <strong>Ecuador<\/strong>, <strong>Brazil <\/strong>and <strong>United States<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The CEO of <strong>VGMobility Colombia<\/strong>, <strong>Andr\u00e9s Jaramillo<\/strong>, said that improving the <strong>Integrated Public Transport System<\/strong>, in terms of environmental care, is equivalent to <strong>saving 30,000 tons of CO<sub>2<\/sub> per year<\/strong>, which would be like planting an average of 180,000 trees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For their part, Bogot\u00e1 authorities project that with the entry into operation of the 406 electric buses, <strong>6.5 tons of particulate matter and 17,000 tons of CO<sub>2<\/sub> per year will no longer be emitted<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the entire fleet of <strong>1,485 electric buses is operating,<\/strong> the reduction will be 94,300 tons of CO<sub>2<\/sub> per year, which would be equivalent to <strong>taking 42,000 private cars out of circulation in Bogot\u00e1<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to the buses, <strong>VG Mobility <\/strong>also opened the doors of a workshop in the Perdomo neighborhood, in the south of the city.
