{"id":13434,"date":"2022-10-07T08:45:01","date_gmt":"2022-10-07T13:45:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/?p=13434"},"modified":"2022-10-07T08:45:05","modified_gmt":"2022-10-07T13:45:05","slug":"chilean-senate-passes-electromobility-and-electricity-storage-bill","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/en\/chilean-senate-passes-electromobility-and-electricity-storage-bill\/","title":{"rendered":"Chilean Senate Passes Electromobility and Electricity Storage Bill"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Chilean authorities have taken another important step towards the massification of electromobility and the contribution of the public sector to promote the energy transition and new technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last Wednesday, October 5, the Senate, through the <strong>Mining and Energy Commission<\/strong>, approved the project that promotes electric energy storage and <strong>electromobility.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is worth noting that this legal initiative was presented in December 2021 by the previous administration and is qualified as a key point for the decarbonization of the energy matrix.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Read also:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/en\/porsche-renault-nissan-vitesco-and-leaseplan-to-unveil-technological-advances-for-sustainable-mobility-at-latam-mobility-mexico-2022\/\"><strong>Porsche, Renault, Nissan, Vitesco and LeasePlan to Unveil Technological Advances for Sustainable Mobility at \u201cLatam Mobility: Mexico 2022\u201d<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-proposal-s-focus\"><strong>Proposal&#8217;s Focus<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The main objective of the program is to <strong>enable a greater participation of renewable energies in the electricity matrix<\/strong> through the promotion of storage technologies, as well as to boost the sales levels of electric vehicles in Chile towards those existing at international level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The initiative also proposes the promotion of pure storage in the electricity market. Given that the main non-conventional renewable energies (solar and wind) are variable, their massive integration requires storage facilities that allow easy and quick management of electrical energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Energy Minister, <strong>Diego Pardow<\/strong>, applauded the approval and noted that it is an important step for the challenges that lie ahead. He also assured that the ministry&#8217;s disposition is to address the obstacles that arise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He informed that in transmission matters they are working on a miscellaneous law that covers the pending issues, in aspects where there is consensus with the industry.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&#8220;We are moving forward.
