{"id":14365,"date":"2022-11-03T07:13:58","date_gmt":"2022-11-03T12:13:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/?p=14365"},"modified":"2022-11-03T07:14:01","modified_gmt":"2022-11-03T12:14:01","slug":"mexico-and-the-united-states-to-present-advances-in-electromobility-at-cop27","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/en\/mexico-and-the-united-states-to-present-advances-in-electromobility-at-cop27\/","title":{"rendered":"Mexico and the United States to Present Advances in Electromobility at COP27"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The administrations of the United States and Mexico have established important lines of action to implement policies and strategies that seek to <strong>massify sustainable mobility and promote electromobility in the region.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Recently, senior White House officials traveled to Mexico to attend a high-level meeting, in which both governments committed to refine their joint roadmap in favor of future mobility and the environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To strengthen those ties and include representatives of the automotive industry, another meeting was held this week between senior officials to establish an electromobility plan that seeks to attract more investment in the manufacture of electric vehicles and auto parts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Read also:<\/strong> <a href=\"IEA: Electromobility and Renewable Energies Slow CO2 Emissions Growth in 2022\"><strong>IEA: Electromobility and Renewable Energies Slow CO2 Emissions Growth in 2022<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-incentives-and-manufacturers-involved\"><strong>Incentives and Manufacturers Involved<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>According to <strong>Iker Jim\u00e9nez<\/strong>, General Director of <strong>Global Economic Impulse of the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs <\/strong>(SRE), the project will include incentives for automakers that decide to open new plants or development centers in Mexico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The official revealed details of the program after the inauguration of Ford&#8217;s new Global Technology and Business Center (GTBC) in Naucalpan, State of Mexico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We have a Transportation Electrification Working Group, where there is private initiative, government and academia from Mexico and the United States,&#8221; said Jim\u00e9nez, who also highlighted that the main partner is the University of California, with which a strategy is being worked on that includes the participation of Ford and other car brands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-climate-summit\"><strong>Climate Summit<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the Mexican and U.S. authorities leading the project, the <strong><em>United Nations Climate Change Conference<\/em><\/strong> (COP 27), to be held this month in <strong>Egypt<\/strong>, will be the ideal scenario to present the first advances of this Working Group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In December, Mexico&#8217;s Foreign Minister <strong>Marcelo Ebrard<\/strong> will unveil a book with a roadmap for the electrification of mobility in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It should be noted that in addition to <strong>Ford<\/strong>&#8216;s ambitious investment, other companies with which they are working are <strong>General Motors<\/strong>, <strong>Tesla<\/strong>, <strong>JAC <\/strong>and <strong>Stellantis<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The administrations of the United States and Mexico have established important lines of action to implement policies and strategies that seek to massify sustainable mobility and promote electromobility in the region.
