Together with the operators <strong>STP <\/strong>and <strong>Metropol<\/strong>, <strong>Copec <\/strong>will build 10 of the 13 new electric terminals and will supply the energy for 80 percent of the new fleet.<br><br>The new electric terminals will have 197 <strong>Copec Voltex<\/strong> fast chargers, making the company the largest supplier of energy for electric buses in Chile. &#8220;Last December we inaugurated the El Conquistador electric terminal, the largest in South America, and today, together with STP and Metropol, we were awarded 10 of the 13 new terminals for the Metropolitan Region. We are pushing the energy transformation of our country and bringing all the benefits and quality of electromobility to public transport users&#8221;, said<strong> Leonardo Ljubetic<\/strong>, Development and Management Manager of <strong>Copec<\/strong>.<br><br><strong>The new terminals and electric fleet will come into operation in June 2022, with 1700 electric buses for public transport<\/strong>.<br><br>&#8220;To the 215 buses put into service in 2020, we will add another 800 in the Metropolitan Region alone. In total, <strong>we will energize more than 1,000 electric buses in Greater Santiago, that is, about 60% of this type of transportation in the entire Metropolitan Region<\/strong>. We are committed to the development and movement of people, companies and the country and that is why we want to be part of the challenges of sustainable growth, transforming our business, taking care of the environment and our surroundings and contributing to the development of society as a whole, communities and people&#8221;, said the executive.<br><br>The &#8220;Use of tracks&#8221; tender awarded by the operators STP (People Transport Service) and METROPOL, obtained 10 out of 13 electroterminals with <strong>Copec Voltex<\/strong> as a strategic partner with the objective of incorporating clean energies in the system. <strong>Copec Voltex<\/strong> will be in charge of the design, engineering, construction, maintenance, load management software and 100% renewable energy supply.<br><br><strong>All of the electroterminals will be built in Santiago and contemplate an investment of approximately US$30 million to strengthen the operation of public transport and the network<\/strong>. The awarding of service unit 1 includes the routes between Pudahuel, Huechuraba, Conchal\u00ed and Independencia; service unit 2 is focused on serving the routes that go to the center of the capital and the eastern area of Santiago, and for units 3 and 5 the coverage goes from the south of the Metropolitan Region to the districts of La Reina and \u00d1u\u00f1oa.<br><br>&#8220;We will continue to promote alliances and develop solutions and services of the highest energy efficiency technology so that not only in Santiago, but also in the rest of the country, we have a clean, efficient and sustainable public transport&#8221;, says <strong>Leonardo Ljubetic<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications announced the results of the tender to renew public transport with 991 electric buses and 649 ecological buses.
