According to figures released by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.abve.org.br\/eletrificados-o-melhor-janeiro-da-serie-historica\/\"><strong>Brazilian Association of Electric Vehicles<\/strong><\/a> (ABVE), the market had the best January, at the beginning of 2023, <strong>the best month of January with 4,503 units registered<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The guild details that compared to January 2022 (2,558), <strong>the growth was 76%<\/strong>, while compared to January 2021 (1,321), it was 241%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The numbers indicate that the performance of electrified vehicle sales in early 2023 maintains the strong pace seen last year and over the past five years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-annual-breakdown\"><strong>Annual Breakdown<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ABVE<\/strong> specifies in its report that sales from January to December 2022 (49,245) were 4<strong>1% higher than the same period in 2021<\/strong> (34,990), which had already been 77% higher than 2021 (19,745).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With those numbers, the total fleet of light electric vehicles (cars + light commercial vehicles) in circulation in Brazil went from 130,000 cars, from 2012 to January 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Read also:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/en\/byd-supports-car-free-day-initiative-in-bogota\/\"><strong>BYD Supports \u201cCar Free Day\u201d Initiative in Bogota<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-plug-in-segment\"><strong>Plug-in Segment<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Of the 4,503 electrified light vehicles, 755 were light fully battery electric vehicles, the BEVs (Battery Electric Vehicle), with <strong>17% of the total number of electric vehicles sold in the month<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs), with sales of 1,707 units, accounted for <strong>38% of the total number of electric vehicles registered in the month<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Non-plug-in hybrids (HEV &#8211; Hybrid Electric Vehicle) continue to lead, with 2,041 units registered in January, <strong>representing 45% of the total number of light electric vehicles<\/strong>.<br><br>HEVs continue to be classified as HEV flex, with 1,541 units registered (34%), and HEV gasoline, with 500 units (11%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The market share of electrified light vehicles was 3.4% in relation to the total number of light vehicles sold in the Brazilian domestic market in January (130,460, according to <strong>Fenabrave<\/strong>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This market share sets a new record for the penetration of electric vehicles in the Brazilian market, considering that in January 2022, for example, the market share of electric vehicles was 2%.<br><br><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Brazil started 2023 with a great boost in electromobility by registering record figures in electric vehicle sales.
