Copec Voltex<\/strong> has become a major player in driving electromobility in Chile. Through the most extensive charging network in South America with 1,300 kilometers<\/strong>, the company contributes significantly to initiatives such as the National Electromobility Strategy<\/strong>, Energy Storage Law and Energy Efficiency Law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this regard, Andrea Castro<\/strong>, General Manager of Copec Voltex<\/strong>, participated in the “Latam Mobility Regional Virtual Summit”,<\/strong> a meeting in which representatives of distinguished companies and public sector authorities gave their views and perspectives on the present and the future of mobility in Latin America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Castro stressed that Copec Voltex has created a range of technological solutions and tools to accelerate the transition to zero-emission vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We are committed to change, which is why we have developed a portfolio of solutions to support companies with renewable energy supply, batteries and storage, solar panels”,<\/strong> he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wide Range of Services<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Regarding the operation of Copec Voltex<\/strong>, Castro explained that “we were serving customers at our facilities or their operations centers, but we understood and we have data that 65% of the loads will be between people’s homes and offices<\/strong>, and we will be present in those spaces”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He detailed that they have installed charging points in plazas, shopping malls, parking lots, in addition to installing smart charging infrastructure in homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We offer different solutions for each type of vehicle: light vehicles such as cabs, cargo and last mile transport, we are in the mining industry with 1,200 electric buses in alliance with Codelco, we work with interurban transport”<\/strong>, said the executive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She also highlighted the awarding of the tender to build 10 of the 13 electroterminals planned for the Metropolitan Region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Challenges on the Way<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

During her participation in the Latam Mobility<\/strong> meeting, Castro said that despite the great progress made, there are still many challenges to overcome on the road to reducing emissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We seek to continue advancing and delivering solutions to our customers with the broadest possible infrastructure projects, with charger supply, construction, storage and charging software, renewable energy supply, among others.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Castro underlined as a positive aspect in the arduous path towards electromobility, that people are increasingly aware of climate change and governments are working on regulations to change the course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
