Within the framework of the “Car Free Day”<\/strong> in Bogota, the president of General Motors International<\/strong>, Shilpan Amin<\/strong>, and the president of General Motors South America<\/strong>, Santiago Chamorro<\/strong>, met with the president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro<\/strong>, to coordinate efforts with the aim of having the first electric vehicle assembly plant in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n According to information obtained by Canal 1<\/strong>, during the tour, Amin held conversations with the Colombian executives, in which he inquired about their expectations with the current government and its position for the performance of the automotive sector in the country during this period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The responses were positive, especially for the announcements of the new administration in proposing an energy transition in the country, a commitment that has been highlighted since its installation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Amin posed the question “So committed that Colombia will be the first country in Latin America where we will assemble our electric vehicles?”.
