In total, <strong>4,503 units were sold<\/strong> in the beginning of the year, that is, according to the <strong>ABVE<\/strong> (Brazilian Association of Electric Vehicles), this is the best January ever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If compared to January 2022, <em>there were 2,558, with a growth of 76%<\/em>. In January 2021, <strong>a total of 1,321 units were sold<\/strong>. However, if compared to December 2022, there was a 19% decrease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to <strong>ABVE<\/strong>, this period of the year is normal. Another fact is that <strong>December last year was the second best ever<\/strong>, second only to September 2022 with <strong>6,391 electrified cars for sale<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The figures indicate that the performance of electric vehicle sales in early 2023 maintains the strong pace of last year and the past five years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>January to December 2022 sales (49,245) were 41% higher<\/strong> than the same period in 2021 (34,990), which had already been 77% higher than in 2021 (19,745).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With these figures, the total fleet of electrified light vehicles (passenger cars + light commercials) in circulation in Brazil <strong>exceeded 130,000 vehicles from 2012 to January 2023<\/strong>. More precisely: 131,007 units.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-plug-in-vehicles\">Plug-in vehicles<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Of the 4,503 electrified light vehicles, <strong>755 were fully battery electric vehicles<\/strong>, BEVs (Battery Electric Vehicle), with 17% of the total number of electrified vehicles sold in the month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Plug-in hybrid electric vehicles<\/strong> (PHEVs), <strong>with sales of 1,707 units<\/strong>, accounted for 38% of the month&#8217;s electrified total.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Non-plug-in hybrid electric vehicles<\/strong> (HEVs) <strong>continue to lead with 2,041 units sold in January<\/strong>, representing 45% of the total number of electrified light-duty vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>HEVs are also classified into HEV flex, with 1,541 units sold (34%), and gasoline HEVs, with 500 units (11%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">States<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Ranking of states with the highest number of electrified vehicles for sale in January 2023:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>S\u00e3o Paulo: 1,430<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rio de Janeiro: 397<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Minas Gerais: 326<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Santa Catarina: 319<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Federal District: 304<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Paran\u00e1: 291<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rio Grande do Sul: 269<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bahia: 159<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Goi\u00e1s: 143<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pernambuco: 136<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The ten cities that will sell the most electrified light vehicles in January 2023:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>S\u00e3o Paulo: 654<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Brasilia: 304<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rio de Janeiro: 199<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Belo Horizonte: 177<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Curitiba: 109<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Campinas: 96<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Porto Alegre: 96<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Goiania: 91<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Salvador: 85<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Recife: 83<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Market share<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The market share of electrified vehicles was 3.4% in relation to the total number of light vehicles sold in the Brazilian domestic market in January<\/strong> (130,460, according to Fenabrave).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This market share marks a new record for the penetration of electrified vehicles in the Brazilian market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In January 2022, for example, <strong>the market share of electrified vehicles was 2%.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>January 2023 was a historic month for electrified vehicle sales in Brazil.
