{"id":16708,"date":"2023-02-24T06:40:52","date_gmt":"2023-02-24T11:40:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/?p=16708"},"modified":"2023-02-24T06:41:15","modified_gmt":"2023-02-24T11:41:15","slug":"vemo-and-uber-launch-comfort-electric-service-in-bogota-for-users-to-travel-in-electric-vehicles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/en\/vemo-and-uber-launch-comfort-electric-service-in-bogota-for-users-to-travel-in-electric-vehicles\/","title":{"rendered":"Vemo and Uber Launch &#8220;Comfort Electric&#8221; Service in Bogota for Users to Travel in Electric Vehicles\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Colombia remains at the forefront as one of the leading countries in electromobility in Latin America<\/strong>, as a result of public policies and great efforts from the private sector to build alliances and approve investments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.andemos.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">National Association of Sustainable Mobility<\/a> <\/strong>(Andemos), <strong>zero-emission cars had a growth of 57.3% in 2022<\/strong>, compared to the 4.8% increase of the overall automotive market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The good outlook that <strong>Colombia <\/strong>reflects in terms of mobility opens the door for companies such as <strong>Vemo <\/strong>to bet on the implementation of ambitious charging infrastructure projects and form strategic partnerships such as the one announced with Uber.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of its roadmap to be zero emissions by 2040, <strong>Uber will work with Vemo to offer the Comfort Electric service, with which users will be able to travel in electric vehicles<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-pioneer-capital-city\"><strong>Pioneer Capital City<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Bogota was chosen by the shared mobility giant to be the first city in Latin America with this innovation<\/strong>. In addition to helping improve air quality and reduce the carbon footprint, Uber users will be able to travel with their pets at no additional cost, have a scheme of more than 40 security measures, including interior and exterior cameras, and have all the comfort of the brand&#8217;s premium service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&#8220;At Uber we are proud to be part of the transformation of cities towards sustainability and electromobility. Therefore, through a collaboration with VEMO we announce that the Comfort Electric\u26a1\ufe0fen Bogot\u00e1 option is now available,&#8221;<\/strong> celebrated Uber&#8217;s General Manager, <strong>\u00c1ngela Mendoza<\/strong> through her account on the social network <strong>Linkedin<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She explained that the tool will allow customers to access rides in 100% electric vehicles, with the opportunity to do so safely in the company of their pets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Related content:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/en\/brazil-keeps-pace-with-electrified-vehicle-sales-in-january\/\"><strong>Brazil Keeps Pace with Electrified Vehicle Sales in January<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-plan\"><strong>The Plan<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>According to what <strong>Uber <\/strong>executives told <strong>Forbes <\/strong>magazine in <strong>Colombia<\/strong>, the launch will be staggered; in the first stage <strong>there will be 60 vehicles available to make trips between 57th Street and 100th Street<\/strong>, from the eastern hills to the highway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The plan of the companies is to double the fleet by mid-year and expand the geographical area of the service<\/strong>. They do not rule out reaching other cities with this alliance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Vemo&#8217;s entry into the country is not only an opportunity for Uber users<\/strong>.
