This fleet avoids the emission of 94,300 tons of CO<sub>2<\/sub> per year, equivalent to planting 2,500,000 trees.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0Additionally, <strong>BYD <\/strong>has a fleet of around one hundred electric cabs and special service vehicles in operation for more than 10 years, <strong>with an average of 600,000 kilometers per vehicle<\/strong>, and is the only brand that offers the most complete portfolio of light and heavy duty electric trucks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Read also: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/en\/?p=16717\"><strong>Electric Vehicles Production in Brazil to Reach 55% by 2020<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-key-player-in-mobility\"><strong>Key player in mobility<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Juan Luis Mesa<\/strong>, General Manager of <strong>BYD Colombia<\/strong> highlighted that with the product portfolio they have offered effective zero emission solutions in different cities in Colombia throughout these 10 years and the figures support their activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;<strong>This allows us to affirm with confidence that BYD is the strategic ally to achieve the objectives that seek to strengthen electric mobility in the country<\/strong>,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Beyond the above, our commitment to mitigating the effects of climate change is a priority and is in line with the plans to move towards a fair, safe, reliable and efficient energy transition in the country. The <strong>National Development Plan<\/strong> includes the roadmap for this sector, through the creation of the <strong>Fund for the Promotion of Technological Advancement<\/strong>, which will contribute to the fulfillment of the goals set by the National Government in terms of Energy Transition for this four-year period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0The fund will seek to finance the migration of Colombia&#8217;s bus, truck and cab fleets to clean mobility technologies, granting resources through four sub-accounts: <strong>zero-emission mobility for public passenger transportation systems co-financed by the nation; modernization of light and heavy cargo transportation; and modernization of the country&#8217;s cab fleet<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BYD continues to make a strong commitment to the Latin American market with a large participation in Colombia, where its operations contribute significantly to the development of electric mobility.
