{"id":17321,"date":"2023-03-20T07:02:05","date_gmt":"2023-03-20T12:02:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/?p=17321"},"modified":"2023-03-20T07:02:08","modified_gmt":"2023-03-20T12:02:08","slug":"chiles-public-and-private-sector-reaffirms-commitment-to-promote-electric-mobility-and-clean-energies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/en\/chiles-public-and-private-sector-reaffirms-commitment-to-promote-electric-mobility-and-clean-energies\/","title":{"rendered":"Chile&#8217;s Public and Private Sector Reaffirms Commitment to Promote Electric Mobility and Clean Energies"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The <strong>El Teniente Division<\/strong> represents a true success story with respect to energy transition and implementation of low-emission transportation in <strong>Chile<\/strong>&#8216;s mining sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the support of <strong>Codelco, Copec Voltex, Pacific Hydro and Reborn Electric, in a key alliance between the public and private sectors, the mine is an example of efficiency.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this sense, representatives of organizations, companies and academia participated in the activity that <strong>Codelco Divisi\u00f3n El Teniente<\/strong> organized to present its progress in the delivery of sustainable supplies and services, in the framework of the Energy Efficiency Day and to reiterate its commitment to the sustainable development of Chile and the O&#8217;Higgins Region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Read also:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/en\/two-new-byd-electric-cars-available-for-reservation-in-chile\/\"><strong>Two New BYD Electric Cars Available for Reservation in Chile<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-electromobility-pioneers\"><strong>Electromobility Pioneers<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Flavia Gonz\u00e1lez<\/strong>, Seremi of Transport, emphasized that the O&#8217;Higgins Region is at the forefront of electric mobility. &#8220;It was very important to see on the ground the work being done by El Teniente with respect to electric buses.<strong> Sustainability is a giant step that the region and the country must continue to take in order to move forward<\/strong>,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ingriz Arce<\/strong>, Energy and Supply Superintendent of El Teniente&#8217;s Services Management, explained that &#8220;the objective was to get together to reflect on the importance of energy efficiency in El Teniente&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She also stressed the importance of making synergies and alliances with strategic allies such as the companies that supply energy and that, with their innovations, are part of the commitment. &#8220;It is an issue that interests society and here we saw a transversal commitment to be more efficient and move towards a green energy matrix,&#8221; she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Representing the academy, <strong>Mat\u00edas D\u00edaz<\/strong>, Associate Professor at the <strong>University of Santiago de Chile<\/strong> said that electromobility is a good example of how the public, private and research sectors can collaborate to massify a technology that has very positive implications for the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;An electric vehicle is four times more efficient than a combustion vehicle and generates energy savings, cost reductions, noise emissions and stops emitting hundreds of tons of CO<sub>2 <\/sub>(carbon dioxide)&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is worth noting that in addition to the great reduction in emissions and support for the environment, electric mobility initiatives are undergoing major changes to make it a profitable business model.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The El Teniente Division represents a true success story with respect to energy transition and implementation of low-emission transportation in Chile&#8216;s mining sector.
