{"id":18157,"date":"2023-04-27T05:05:00","date_gmt":"2023-04-27T10:05:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/?p=18157"},"modified":"2023-04-27T06:24:15","modified_gmt":"2023-04-27T11:24:15","slug":"scania-electric-trucks-arrive-to-mexico-for-grupo-bimbos-operations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/en\/scania-electric-trucks-arrive-to-mexico-for-grupo-bimbos-operations\/","title":{"rendered":"Scania Electric Trucks Arrive to Mexico for Grupo Bimbo&#8217;s Operations"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>As part of its sustainability strategy that seeks carbon neutrality in its operations, <strong>Grupo Bimbo<\/strong> acquired an important fleet of electric trucks from Scania.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bimbo reported that in 2020, <strong>managed to reduce its carbon dioxide emissions by 9% compared to the previous year<\/strong>, and that 80% of the electric energy they use comes from renewable sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These are the first units of the renowned brand of electrified heavy vehicles in Latin America, specifically in Mexico, where the company is beginning to make a strong presence with its technological and ecological offer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Bimbo purchased seven Scania Mexico model 2024 25P B4x2 rigid electric trucks<\/strong>. The test, which began in 2022, yielded positive results in terms of range and performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Alejandro Mondrag\u00f3n<\/strong>, CEO of <strong>Scania Mexico<\/strong>, highlighted that both companies are gradually approaching the common goal of <strong>reducing polluting emissions from vehicles to 20% of their 2015 level by 2025<\/strong>, and continuing to move towards zero carbon emissions, in line with the commitment of the <strong>Science-Based Targets initiative<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He explained that these are buses for the distribution of goods in <strong>Mexico City<\/strong>, which already have very specific routes, in a Bimbo distribution base where they ensured that all the energies that supply the trucks are renewable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;It is an important investment that Bimbo is making because it is not only the trucks, it is the bodywork, the platform and all of this as part of its commitment and Scania Mexico&#8217;s commitment to renewable energies,&#8221; Mondrag\u00f3n concluded.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As part of its sustainability strategy that seeks carbon neutrality in its operations, Grupo Bimbo acquired an important fleet of electric trucks from Scania.
