Colombia <\/strong>and its capital, Bogota<\/strong>, have become a leading reference for sustainable mobility in Latin America. Through important projects and strategic alliances, the city presents significant achievements in the challenging path towards the energy transition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The District Mobility Secretariat<\/strong>, headed by Deyanira \u00c1vila<\/strong>, is a key player in the sustainable roadmap “Public Policy for Zero and Low Emission Motorized Mobility 2023-2040<\/strong>“, which seeks to consolidate mobility as an efficient, accessible and competitive alternative in the city and its surrounding municipalities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One of the important provisions to promote electromobility is the decree to assign guidelines for the constitution, administration and operation of the District Fund for the Promotion of the Technological Upgrade of Urban Freight<\/strong>, an initiative promoted by Avila together with the Secretary of Environment, Carolina Urrutia<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The objective is to articulate, focus, grant incentives and finance the execution of programs aimed at the modernization of urban freight transport in Bogota.<\/p>\n\n\n\nDeyanira \u00c1vila, District Secretary for Mobility and Secretary for the Environment, Carolina Urrutia<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
Electromobility and Key Infrastructure<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
“The cargo sector is one of those that for many years has been left out of mobility and environmental policies, this is one of the first steps we are taking in the consolidation of this Cargo Fund for this type of vehicles,” said Secretary \u00c1vila during the signing of the decree in early 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She invited the actors to get involved in the initiative that she qualifies as one of the great opportunities that the district is providing for financing, and in this way, take that step to the energy transition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2022, Colombia’s capital reached the figure of 1,485 electric buses in operation<\/strong>, making it the city with the second largest fleet of electric buses in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
