{"id":18279,"date":"2023-05-03T05:00:00","date_gmt":"2023-05-03T10:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/?p=18279"},"modified":"2023-05-02T18:58:06","modified_gmt":"2023-05-02T23:58:06","slug":"how-is-the-electromobility-scenario-in-costa-rica","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/en\/how-is-the-electromobility-scenario-in-costa-rica\/","title":{"rendered":"How is the Electromobility Scenario in Costa Rica?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Through strategic partnerships between the public and private sectors,<strong> Costa Rica<\/strong> is accelerating its roadmap to massify electric mobility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the first quarter of 2023, <strong>Blink Charging announced the installation of 14 public charging points throughout the country<\/strong>, as a result of partnerships with local companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Costa Rican Electricity Institute<\/strong> (ICE) is another key player in the development of electromobility in the United States. If in 2019 the Ministry of Environment and Energy estimated at less than 1,000 existing electric vehicles in Costa Rica, <strong>in 2022 there were already 5,000<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, <strong>ICE <\/strong>highlights that <strong>the commercialization of zero-emission cars represented 7% of the total<\/strong>, with 24 brands and 45 models available, in a proof of the dynamization of the market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently, <strong>ICE <\/strong>and <strong>Compa\u00f1\u00eda Nacional de Fuerza y Luz<\/strong> (CNFL) are the only electricity distribution companies that have incorporated the corresponding fast chargers and that make up a network with the projected mobility, while <strong>the average autonomy of the units circulating in Costa Rica is 350 kilometers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It should be noted that the Institute was a pioneer in incorporating <strong>GB\/T<\/strong> chargers (for vehicles of Chinese origin), which allowed the growth of the national electric fleet.<br><br>After indicating that in 2022,<strong> ICE&#8217;s public chargers supplied close to 750 kilowatts\/hour<\/strong>, the state entity refers that together with CNFL provide timely and diligent maintenance to its 67 fast and semi-fast chargers, and work to massify the equipment in hotels, stores, restaurants and open spaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In October 2022, it presented the subscription and charging platform &#8220;<strong>ES EL\u00c9CTRICO<\/strong>&#8221; -available for <strong>Android <\/strong>and <strong>iOS <\/strong>systems-, which also allows knowing the availability of its chargers and the types of connectors, the location of the points and the distance between them.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Through strategic partnerships between the public and private sectors, Costa Rica is accelerating its roadmap to massify electric mobility.
