{"id":18362,"date":"2023-05-08T05:05:00","date_gmt":"2023-05-08T10:05:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/?p=18362"},"modified":"2023-05-07T18:37:09","modified_gmt":"2023-05-07T23:37:09","slug":"great-wall-motor-starts-production-of-electric-vehicles-in-brazil","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/en\/great-wall-motor-starts-production-of-electric-vehicles-in-brazil\/","title":{"rendered":"Great Wall Motor Starts Production of Electric Vehicles in Brazil"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Chinese manufacturer <strong>Great Wall Motor<\/strong>, with great international reach, intensifies its operations in Latin America and announces production of electric vehicles in <strong>Brazil<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company started manufacturing models at the plant located in the state of S\u00e3o Paulo, where it will start selling the units produced in Brazil during <strong>the second half of 2024<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The announcement was made by the Vice-President of Brazil, <strong>Geraldo Alckmin<\/strong>, during a visit to the plant. It will also be based on the Poer pickup truck and will have a beam chassis. Like the pickup, it will feature a 2.0-liter turbocharged combustion engine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I was in Iracem\u00e1polis (SP) today, accompanying Vice President <strong>Geraldo Alckmin<\/strong>. GWM Brazil&#8217;s new production base is almost ready to operate,&#8221; said<strong> Igor Calvet<\/strong>, President of the <strong>Ag\u00eancia Brasileira de Desenvolvimento Industrial <\/strong>(ABDI).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Electric vehicles, whether hybrid or electric, are on their way, and it is good to know that, after years of policy maturation, new technologies are entering the country, modernizing the productive park, increasing competition, providing consumer welfare and generating new (and better) jobs,&#8221; he stressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over the next ten years,<strong> Great Wall will invest US$ 2 billion in its first plant outside Asia to expand its production capacity from 20,000 units per year to 100,000<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Chinese manufacturer Great Wall Motor, with great international reach, intensifies its operations in Latin America and announces production of electric vehicles in Brazil.
