Faced with the alarming consequences of climate change, Mexico <\/strong>is working at an accelerated pace to adopt measures that contribute to the decarbonization of transportation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The electrification of the automotive sector is vital for the fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals<\/strong> since, according to UN <\/strong>estimates, this would lead to a substantial reduction in CO2<\/sub> emissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The institution’s projections indicate that it could even achieve a reduction of 2.4 Giga tons of CO2<\/sub><\/strong>, generating fuel savings of close to 85 billion dollars in the 2016-2050 period<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In view of this scenario, Kia<\/strong>, one of the world’s leading manufacturers, is analyzing the production of electric vehicles in Mexico, according to the Nuevo Le\u00f3n Governor, Samuel Garc\u00eda<\/strong>. It is worth noting that the brand already has an industrial complex in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kia <\/strong>representatives confirmed that negotiations are underway with the parent company. In the event of receiving the go-ahead to manufacture electric cars in the Mexican state, the objective is to take advantage of the tax credits that the United States will offer for the acquisition of these cars, which represents a great opportunity for the brand to multiply its sales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
