{"id":19490,"date":"2023-06-05T05:00:00","date_gmt":"2023-06-05T10:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/?p=19490"},"modified":"2023-06-03T11:18:45","modified_gmt":"2023-06-03T16:18:45","slug":"bridgestone-unveils-first-tire-for-electric-cars","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/en\/bridgestone-unveils-first-tire-for-electric-cars\/","title":{"rendered":"Bridgestone Unveils First Tire for Electric Cars"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The electromobility train has more and more passengers, leaving aside paradigms and skepticism about these new technologies that not only contribute to the environment, but are beginning to be attractive business models.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the emblematic companies that has fully embraced sustainable mobility is <strong>Bridgestone<\/strong>, which launched its first exclusive tire for electric vehicles at a major event held in California, United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is the <strong>Turanza EV<\/strong>, <strong>a grand touring tire designed to handle the heavier torque of electric vehicles<\/strong> in all seasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Several new <strong>Bridgestone <\/strong>technologies also make their debut in the <strong>Turanza <\/strong>tire, which will be aimed at <strong>Tesla <\/strong>and <strong>Ford EV<\/strong> drivers to begin with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"928\" height=\"517\" src=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/TUR-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-19484\" srcset=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/TUR-1.png 928w, https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/TUR-1-300x167.png 300w, https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/TUR-1-768x428.png 768w, https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/TUR-1-600x334.png 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 928px) 100vw, 928px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Photo: Bridgeston Am\u00e9rica<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Related content: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/en\/renting-colombia-triples-electric-fleet-in-partnership-with-muverang-and-auteco-mobility\/\"><strong>Renting Colombia Triples Electric Fleet in Partnership with Muverang and Auteco Mobility<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-road-to-electromobility\"><strong>The Road to Electromobility<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Bridgestone<\/strong>&#8216;s testing and efforts date back to the <strong>EMIA <\/strong>(Europe, Russia, Middle East, India and Africa) division, which developed a tire specifically for the now-defunct Lightyear One solar EV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In August 2021, <strong>Bridgestone announced a partnership with autonomous commercial electric vehicle developer Einride to become its sole tire supplier for U.S. fleets<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In return, <strong>Einride <\/strong>is helping the tire maker electrify its truck fleets in a bid to make the majority of its vehicles electrified. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Recently, <strong>Bridgestone <\/strong>partnered with <strong>Blink Charging<\/strong> to deploy <strong>Level 2 EV<\/strong> chargers in dozens of its retail stores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The tire producer has been backing electric vehicles for years, but now it&#8217;s stomping its feet with a homegrown creation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-features\"><strong>Features<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Turanza EV<\/strong> tire features technology unique to the tire maker. First, the new market replacement rubber is the brand&#8217;s first in North America to feature <strong>ENLITEN <\/strong>technology, which is <strong>made from 50 percent renewable and recycled materials<\/strong>, while delivering longer life and all-season performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Recycled materials <strong>include carbon black from old tires, synthetic rubber from plastic bags and bottles, renewable soybean oil and even silica from rice husks<\/strong>, which is often a byproduct discarded during rice harvesting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also debuting in the <strong>Turanza EV <\/strong>tire is <strong>Bridgestone<\/strong>&#8216;s <strong>PeakLife technology<\/strong>, a next-generation polymer that improves tread wear resistance, leading to longer tire life.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The electromobility train has more and more passengers, leaving aside paradigms and skepticism about these new technologies that not only contribute to the environment, but are beginning to be attractive business models.
