The public and private sectors and experts in electric mobility agree that the transition towards the adoption of electric vehicles must be accompanied by an integral ecosystem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To discuss the current situation and prospects in the region, the panel “Charging infrastructure as an ally for the massification of electromobility in Latin America<\/strong>” was held during the “Latam Mobility: Colombia 2023<\/strong>“.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The debate was attended by leading representatives of Colombian and international companies. Daniela Garcia<\/strong>, LATAM Business Development Manager of Vehya<\/strong>, pointed out that with a strong presence in Brazil, Mexico, the United States and Canada<\/strong>, the company is starting to develop operations in Chile <\/strong>and Colombia<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We are a digital platform focused on charging infrastructure services, we do installation and maintenance of chargers. For the electrification process, we connect electricians to end consumers,” he explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He emphasized that they are focusing hard on public and residential infrastructure, with the objective of contributing to massification. “It is essential to have chargers at home, it is easier and changes the consumption model”, said Garc\u00eda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Vehya <\/strong>executive emphasized the need to strengthen the skilled labor force with electricians trained to offer a quality service<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The boom in this market is increasing the need for service providers trained to prepare the necessary infrastructure, and offer underlying services such as maintenance and charger upgrades<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Circontrol and Electric Vehicle Focus<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Gustavo Alejandro Risi<\/strong>, Sales Manager in South America for Circontrol<\/strong>, said that the company’s activity is focused on the development of exclusive chargers for electric vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He specified that they have equipment capable of starting with power of 7.4 kilowatts<\/strong>, adapted to the needs of each client and its application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Circontrol <\/strong>has a high technological level of chargers for electrified cars. For example, DC fast equipment can be monitored at all times thanks to the reporting platform<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Risi noted that one of the attributes that the products feature is that charging station operators will be able to collect metrics and consumption data, configure different charging profiles, receive alerts if something is wrong, and even know the vehicle’s charging status or bill their customers for energy if they choose to do so<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We are all part of a system<\/strong>, we are not competitors, we are colleagues who seek to massify the electric vehicle to decontaminate and for this we use sophisticated charging management platform software,” he stressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wallbox Expansion in the Region<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Wallbox already has operations in 26 countries in Latin America<\/strong>, divided between Mexico, South America and the Caribbean<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Felipe Garc\u00eda<\/strong>, Account Executive Latam of Wallbox<\/strong>, said that the Spanish company is already present in 100 countries worldwide with its innovative offer of chargers for electric vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We started with residential charging, but now we are developing technologies with fast public charging,” he said. “We are focused on hardware and software for chargers, we are looking for chargers to be smart to connect with green energy, solar panels<\/strong>,” he explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Garcia presented at Latam Mobility: Colombia 2023<\/strong>, the offer of “AC<\/strong>“, “MyWallbox<\/strong>” and “Electromaps<\/strong>” chargers for public users, bidirectional chargers, among others. “We have three verticals for the end user to have a complete charging process<\/strong>,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Erco Energ\u00eda and Electromobility Line<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Andr\u00e9s R\u00edos<\/strong>, Erco Energ\u00eda<\/strong>‘s Strategic Business Manager, explained how the company has had the capacity to adapt to the new times by creating its electromobility line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He detailed that its operations are developed in Colombia, Panama <\/strong>and the state of Texas <\/strong>in the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We were born 10 years ago and today we are already a group made up of several companies. Erco works in several divisions such as energy storage and charging infrastructure<\/strong>, there is also Erco Generation with photovoltaic power plants<\/strong>,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He noted that one of the goals is to reach 500 megawatts of by 2027<\/strong>. “We have a complementary offer, a holistic and integral vision in charging infrastructure, it is a system and as a company we seek to contribute to massification,” he concluded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
