{"id":20368,"date":"2023-07-04T05:05:00","date_gmt":"2023-07-04T10:05:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/?p=20368"},"modified":"2023-07-02T12:56:11","modified_gmt":"2023-07-02T17:56:11","slug":"anac-first-half-of-2023-records-35-increase-in-electric-car-sales-in-chile","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/en\/anac-first-half-of-2023-records-35-increase-in-electric-car-sales-in-chile\/","title":{"rendered":"ANAC: First Half of 2023 Records 35% Increase in Electric Car Sales in Chile"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Despite a slight drop in the month of May, the first half of the year has been a success in the commercialization of electric vehicles in <strong>Chile<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to figures from the <strong>National Automotive Association of Chile<\/strong> (ANAC), <strong>a total of 601<\/strong> <strong>electrified cars were sold between January and May<\/strong>, which implies a 35.7% jump compared to the same period in 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In May, <strong>the sale of zero or low-emission cars registered a 22.9% decrease<\/strong> and 585 vehicles were registered with this type of engine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With respect to heavy vehicles, <strong>electric buses accumulated 955 units sold in the first five months of this year with an increase of 1,668%, compared to 2022<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Read also:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/en\/byd-ranked-among-time-magazines-most-influential-companies-of-2023\/\"><strong>BYD Ranked among Time Magazine\u2019s Most Influential Companies of 2023<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-still-a-long-way-to-go\"><strong>Still a Long Way to Go<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Although the figures are encouraging, <strong>ANAC <\/strong>insists that conditions and clear regulations still need to be in place to massify electric mobility in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;After the announcement of an <strong>Electromobility Law 2.0<\/strong> made by the Government, <strong>ANAC <\/strong>believes it is necessary to work on a public-private strategy to promote electromobility, which considers investments in charging infrastructure and a focused generation of incentives for end users,&#8221; says the guild.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They also referred to the interoperability regulation and argued that it is key to highlight the new requirements to be met by those wishing to implement public charging stations in <strong>Chile<\/strong>, which seem to be in line with the problems already faced by other countries that are at the forefront of electromobility&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;It is crucial to anticipate these problems and take measures, <strong>starting by seeking to incentivize the public charging network to become more expansive<\/strong>,&#8221; concluded the guild.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-latam-mobility-in-chile\"><strong>Latam Mobility in Chile<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As one of the key players in the region in building the largest sustainable community in Latin America, <strong>Latam Mobility arrives in Chile on August 27 and 28 as part of the Mobility and Sustainability Tour 2024<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The meeting will bring together leading personalities from the public sector and private companies, with the aim of offering their perspectives and a snapshot of the current sustainable mobility landscape in Latin America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For participation information, please contact <strong><a href=\"mailto:info@investinlatam.org\">info@investinlatam.org<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Despite a slight drop in the month of May, the first half of the year has been a success in the commercialization of electric vehicles in Chile.
