In a joint effort between different organizations and state institutions in Chile<\/strong>, the launch of the “+Carga R\u00e1pida<\/strong>” program was announced in Arica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative seeks to accelerate the deployment of fast charging infrastructure for electric vehicles throughout the country<\/strong> and will allow all regions to have at least one fast charger before the end of the year, contributing to achieve the carbon-neutral commitments of 2050.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The program, developed by AgenciaSE <\/strong>and financed through international funds, has been implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft f\u00fcr Internationale Zusammenarbeit<\/strong> (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection<\/strong> (BMWK) with funds from the International Climate Initiative <\/strong>(IKI) and the Global Environment Facility<\/strong> (GEF).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is also supported by the Chilean Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Solutions Range<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Prior to the implementation of “+Carga R\u00e1pida<\/strong>“, six of Chile<\/strong>‘s 16 regions lacked fast chargers for electric vehicles. Now, 16 chargers will be installed throughout the country, from Arica to Punta Arenas, which translates into 32 public access fast charging points<\/strong>, each with a capacity of between 120 and 60 kW.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a result, all regions will have at least one fast charger, highlighting the presence of the first one in Chilo\u00e9 Island, and the southernmost fast charger in the world, in Punta Arenas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The “+Carga R\u00e1pida<\/strong>” program has accelerated the deployment of infrastructure investments. Through a co-financing process and by means of a public tender, the installation and operation of the charging points was agreed in collaboration with the charging operators Enex <\/strong>and Copec<\/strong>, who will provide 20 and 12 charging points<\/strong>, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the launch held in Arica, which was attended by various invited authorities, the Executive Director of the AgenciaSE<\/strong>, Rosa Riquelme<\/strong>, highlighted that this is an important step forward for the country, since it is a program that allows connecting the country with fast vehicle charging infrastructure from Arica to Punta Arenas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“These chargers not only have the advantage of being able to diversify access to electromobility, but also generate a better user experience,” she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She explained that it is a program financed by international funds that provide the opportunity to bring resources and experiences from other countries to, exclusively, advance in this thematic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We are also happy as AgenciaSE<\/strong>, because it is a program that gives continuity to the work that the Ministry of Energy has been doing to advance electromobility, implementing fast charging infrastructure for public access,” she concluded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Latam Mobility’s Major Meeting<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

As one of the key players in the region in building the largest sustainable community in Latin America<\/strong>, Latam Mobility arrives in Chile on August 27 and 28<\/strong> as part of the mobility and sustainability tour 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting will bring together leading personalities from the public sector and private companies, with the aim of offering their perspectives and a snapshot of the current landscape of sustainable mobility in Latin America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
