{"id":21067,"date":"2023-07-26T05:05:00","date_gmt":"2023-07-26T10:05:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/?p=21067"},"modified":"2023-07-25T17:04:41","modified_gmt":"2023-07-25T22:04:41","slug":"chile-authorities-introduce-project-to-renovate-electric-bus-line","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/en\/chile-authorities-introduce-project-to-renovate-electric-bus-line\/","title":{"rendered":"Chile: Authorities Introduce Project to Renovate Electric Bus Line"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Osorno, a city in the south central zone of <strong>Chile<\/strong>, in the Los Lagos region, received good news on its way to massify electromobility, with the visit of the Minister of Transport, <strong>Juan Carlos Mu\u00f1oz<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The minister explained that this is a project that will include electric buses, defined terminals and an arrangement of urban microbuses in the locality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the coming weeks, <strong>a process of citizen participation will begin, so that the new urban transportation system will be implemented in 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Read also:<\/strong> <a href=\"Chile: FedEx Unveils First Electric Vehicles in Partnership with Maxus and Copec Voltex\"><strong>Chile: FedEx Unveils First Electric Vehicles in Partnership with Maxus and Copec Voltex<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-project-evaluation\"><strong>Project Evaluation<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mu\u00f1oz pointed out that at the end of this year they will open the contest so that <strong>people can present their proposals for the renovation of the city&#8217;s entire fleet<\/strong>, involving all the transport lines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In that line, he assured that several of these lines will be required to implement electrified units. &#8220;Of course, electromobility is a little slower to bring in than diesel buses, which are easier to bring in,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, he clarified that this will depend on the studies to be carried out during the second semester. The Minister&#8217;s announcement comes at a time when <strong>the contracts with local transport entrepreneurs, which were part of a plan that aimed to guarantee frequencies and coverage, expired<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;There is an operational continuity that will be provided.
