In November 2017, the first two electric buses were integrated into the public transport system of Santiago de Chile, with the aim of promoting decarbonization in the transport sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The incorporation of the vehicles represents a great contribution to the environment, by achieving savings of about 70 million liters of diesel<\/strong>, so that, in addition, 218,000 tons of CO2<\/sub> were no longer emitted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Six years later, the capital city has reached the outstanding figure of 2,000 electric buses in the RED System<\/strong>, which represents 31% of the total fleet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This was reported by the Minister of Transport, Juan Carlos Mu\u00f1oz<\/strong>, who explained that thanks to this number, Greater Santiago has consolidated its position as the city outside China with the largest number of electric buses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
