{"id":21444,"date":"2023-08-07T05:05:00","date_gmt":"2023-08-07T10:05:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/?p=21444"},"modified":"2023-08-06T12:27:21","modified_gmt":"2023-08-06T17:27:21","slug":"chile-launching-an-initiative-to-promote-sustainable-mobility-in-atacama","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/en\/chile-launching-an-initiative-to-promote-sustainable-mobility-in-atacama\/","title":{"rendered":"Chile: Launching an Initiative to Promote Sustainable Mobility in Atacama"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With <strong>more than 20 electroterminals and 2,000 electric buses,<\/strong> <strong>Santiago de Chile<\/strong> has become an example that everyone wants to replicate, with the aim of promoting sustainable mobility in the regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this sense, Atacama, in the north of Chile, established the &#8220;<strong>Mesa de Transporte Sustentable<\/strong>&#8220;, in a joint effort between the public and private sectors and academia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The mission is to generate a forum for discussion, analysis and public policy proposals focused on promoting efficient mobility with low emissions, in the face of the challenges posed by the energy transition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Read also:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/en\/chile-achieves-historic-record-of-electric-buses\/\"><strong>Chile Achieves Historic Record of Electric Buses<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-action-lines\"><strong>Action Lines<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the installation ceremony, the Undersecretary of Energy, <strong>Luis Felipe Ramos<\/strong>, explained that a series of actions are being implemented to promote electromobility in the Atacama region and throughout <strong>Chile<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;These initiatives include the expansion of fast charging infrastructure, inter-ministerial collaboration, the identification and overcoming of regulatory barriers, and the establishment of clear goals for the decarbonization of transportation,&#8221; he explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Ramos assured that they are committed to building robust and accessible infrastructure<\/strong>, as well as promoting the adoption of electric vehicles as part of the vision for a more sustainable future.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;By encouraging the adoption of electric vehicles, we leverage our capacity to generate clean energy and diversify our energy matrix,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He stressed that electromobility has a significant impact on reducing greenhouse gas emissions, taking into account that transportation is one of the main sources of polluting emissions in Chile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among the key aspects contemplated in the roadmap to achieve sustainable mobility in Atacama are <strong>the expansion of fast charging infrastructure; the Sustainable Transport Roundtable and clear goals for decarbonization of transport such as the electrification of urban public transport by 2040 and the transition to zero-emission light and medium vehicles by 2035<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-latam-mobility-chile\"><strong>Latam Mobility Chile<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The meeting with the largest sustainable mobility community in Latin America is getting closer and closer. <strong>Latam Mobility arrives in Chile on August 27 and 28 as part of the Mobility and Sustainability Tour 2023<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The meeting will bring together leading personalities from the public sector and private companies, with the aim of offering their perspectives and a snapshot of the current landscape of sustainable mobility in Latin America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For participation information, please contact <a href=\"mailto:info@investinlatam.org\"><strong>info@investinlatam.org<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>With more than 20 electroterminals and 2,000 electric buses, Santiago de Chile has become an example that everyone wants to replicate, with the aim of promoting sustainable mobility in the regions.
