{"id":22294,"date":"2023-09-06T05:00:00","date_gmt":"2023-09-06T10:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/?p=22294"},"modified":"2023-09-05T08:15:18","modified_gmt":"2023-09-05T13:15:18","slug":"peru-ministry-of-economy-to-present-bill-to-promote-electromobility","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/en\/peru-ministry-of-economy-to-present-bill-to-promote-electromobility\/","title":{"rendered":"Peru: Ministry of Economy to Present Bill to Promote Electromobility"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Peru&#8217;s Minister of Economy and Finance, Alex Contreras,<\/strong> informed that, in the next two weeks, the Executive Power will present its own bill to promote electromobility before the Congress of the Republic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is worth mentioning that the portfolio recently rejected a project in Congress to promote electric mobility in the country, alleging that it would generate a <strong>fiscal cost equivalent to some US$ 5,476 million due to an eventual exemption from different taxes.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Econom\u00eda y Finanzas, measures such as the exemption of sales tax, income tax and consumption tax in the incipient market, would have an excessive fiscal cost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-new-light-in-the-tunnel\"><strong>New Light in the Tunnel<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>During his Economic Panorama broadcast, Contreras said that tax incentives will be issued that do not necessarily have to do with further tax cuts. Currently, electric vehicles pay a 0% ISC rate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&#8220;We want to ensure electromobility with measures that are fiscally sustainable. It is not enough to fill the country with cars, but also to seek incentives so that there is a process of substitution for more efficient vehicles.
