{"id":26104,"date":"2023-12-05T05:00:00","date_gmt":"2023-12-05T10:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/?p=26104"},"modified":"2023-12-04T18:41:50","modified_gmt":"2023-12-04T23:41:50","slug":"colombia-public-bicycle-system-makes-major-contributions-to-sustainable-mobility","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/en\/colombia-public-bicycle-system-makes-major-contributions-to-sustainable-mobility\/","title":{"rendered":"Colombia: Public Bicycle System Makes Major Contributions to Sustainable Mobility"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Public Bicycle System has had a significant impact on sustainable mobility in <strong>Ibagu\u00e9, Colombia<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After nine months of operation in eight points of the city, <strong>this pilot achieved close to 1,000 active users and more than 3,000 registered in the &#8216;Rueda por Ibagu\u00e9&#8217; platform, an alternative that has transformed the way of getting around the city.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is an innovative fifth generation system, which has intelligent locks that are locked and its location is tracked by satellite georeferencing, through a mobile application, a tool that allows a quick location in real time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is worth remembering that the <strong>Public Bicycle System<\/strong> in its second phase will be operated by the Institute of Financing, Promotion and Development of Ibagu\u00e9, <strong>Infibagu\u00e9<\/strong>, a bet that will be made in order to provide a better service and reduce operating costs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"551\" height=\"388\" src=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/ABAGUE-2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-26098\" style=\"aspect-ratio:1.4201030927835052;width:732px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/ABAGUE-2.png 551w, https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/ABAGUE-2-300x211.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 551px) 100vw, 551px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Photo: Gobierno Ibagu\u00e9<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-plan-details\"><strong>Plan Details<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Presented in February of this year, the system was born as a need to find alternatives that allow mobility while taking care of the environment free of charge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The project offers locals and tourists the possibility of using another means of transportation for short trips in the city center<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>It began with the availability of 85 bicycles: 16 pedal-assisted and 69 conventional, which are used after downloading the &#8216;Rueda por Ibagu\u00e9&#8217; application and following the respective steps for user authentication.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Read also:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/en\/state-of-mexico-to-implement-sustainable-means-of-transportation\/\"><strong>State of Mexico to Implement Sustainable Means of Transportation<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As an added value of the project, the method being developed in the city is fifth generation with &#8216;<strong>Dockless<\/strong>&#8216;, i.e.: <strong>intelligent bicycles and locks that are locked<\/strong>, and their location is provided by satellite georeferencing, through a mobile application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The system is sponsored by the European Union and the German government<\/strong>, who chose Ibagu\u00e9 as an intermediate capital, with many qualities to carry out this program that is executed thanks to the &#8216;Urban Mobility&#8217; component of Euroclima&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The schedule for the use of bicycles is from Tuesday to Friday from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm; Saturdays from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and Sundays from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Public Bicycle System has had a significant impact on sustainable mobility in Ibagu\u00e9, Colombia.
