In the same month of 2022, sustainable mobility accounted for 52%, compared to 48% for private vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"471\" height=\"345\" src=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/MAD-2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-26657\" style=\"width:732px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/MAD-2.png 471w, https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/MAD-2-300x220.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 471px) 100vw, 471px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Photo: Geoinnova<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-relevant-figures\"><strong>Relevant Figures<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Sustainable mobility, with a total of <strong>7,205,910 daily trips, exceeded those made by private vehicle (5,979,942) by 1,225,968 trips in October. A year ago, this difference between the two modes of getting around the city was less than half: sustainable mobility exceeded private vehicles by 514,633 trips in October 2022.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In total, the city exceeded 13 million daily trips in October, specifically, 13,185,852 trips were made on average each day of the month, a figure that represents an increase of 5.1% compared to the same month in 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Read also:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/en\/enel-x-opens-electric-vehicle-charging-car-park-in-peru\/\"><strong>Enel X Opens Electric Vehicle Charging Car Park in Peru<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With these data, October ranks as the third month with the highest number of trips, surpassed only by the balance of April and May of this year, when 13.5 and 13.3 million daily trips were reached, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Daily trips by public transport reached 3,652,186 in October, compared to 3,283,422 a year ago, and represented 27.6% of the city&#8217;s total trips.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Active mobility &#8212; which represents 26.9% of total movements &#8212; totaled 3,553,724 daily trips this month, 307,909 more than in October 2022.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the other hand, the reduction of trips made in private vehicles was consolidated, with 34,662 fewer trips than a year ago, falling below six million this month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The buses of the Municipal Transport Company (EMT) registered 43,865,217 passengers during the month, which represents an increase of 20.8% compared to October last year, when the figure was 36,301,371.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Trips by public transport and those made by pedestrians exceeded for the first time those made in private vehicles in the city of Madrid in October with 55% of total trips made.
