{"id":27147,"date":"2024-01-08T05:05:00","date_gmt":"2024-01-08T10:05:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/?p=27147"},"modified":"2024-01-03T10:12:40","modified_gmt":"2024-01-03T15:12:40","slug":"bogota-closes-2023-with-major-advances-in-sustainable-mobility-works","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/en\/bogota-closes-2023-with-major-advances-in-sustainable-mobility-works\/","title":{"rendered":"Bogota Closes 2023 with Major Advances in Sustainable Mobility Works"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Mayor&#8217;s Office of Bogota is<strong> executing a plan of works throughout the city that includes the Metro Network, the modernization of the feeder roads of this system, expansion of the entrances and exits of the metropolis, among others.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this regard, the Mayor of the capital, <strong>Claudia Lopez<\/strong>, offered a balance of how the work is progressing to make Bogota a more sustainable city for its inhabitants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&#8220;Bogota is a leader for having clear goals in environmental care with the Climate Action Plan, greening, waste management and transition to sustainable mobility with Metro lines, electric fleet, Regiotrams, cables, green corridors and hundreds of kilometers of bike paths. Today Bogota has a great infrastructure and sustainable mobility plan,&#8221; s<\/strong>he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-bogota-metro-network\"><strong>Bogot\u00e1 Metro Network<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The current District Administration is creating a Metro Network that starts in Bosa and Kennedy with the First Metro Line, which <strong>shows progress of 35% and will be operational in 2028<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, the Mayor&#8217;s Office will put out to tender the contracting of the Second Line, which will be 15 kilometers long, will be subway and will reach Suba and Engativ\u00e1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Likewise, by the end of this year, the Third Metro Line project will be in the feasibility stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Read also: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/ticket\/climate-economy-forum-2024\/\"><strong>Climate Economy Forum | Bogot\u00e1, 07 Mayo 2024<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>This system will be 100% electric<\/strong>, will operate with natural light and ventilation, which will allow citizens to breathe better air.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, <strong>171,000 tons of CO<sub>2<\/sub> will no longer be emitted and 19 million gallons of gasoline will be saved per year<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Regarding the First Metro Line, the mayor said that in November 2019, finally, after 40 years of studies, the First Metro Line of Bogota was contracted for 23 billion pesos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"564\" height=\"389\" src=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/AGOTA-2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-27141\" style=\"width:731px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/AGOTA-2.png 564w, https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/AGOTA-2-300x207.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 564px) 100vw, 564px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>It is the largest contract in the history of Colombia. This First Line starts in Bosa, in its workshop yard, where there will be 30 trains that will then travel through the localities of Kennedy, Puente Aranda and Antonio Nari\u00f1o; they will pass through downtown and reach 72nd Street and Caracas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Line 2 will benefit close to 3 million Bogotanos, especially in four localities: Chapinero, Barrios Unidos, Engativ\u00e1 and Suba.
