The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) received a $1.8 million grant from the federal government to repair or replace non-functioning electric vehicle chargers across the state.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The investment, announced by the Biden-Harris Administration, is part of a national program to improve the reliability and accessibility of electric vehicle charging infrastructure, and support the transition to more sustainable and cleaner transportation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the funds, MDOT will be able to repair or replace up to 172 chargers at 105 locations across Michigan, benefiting electric vehicle drivers and local communities.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sustainable Future<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Zachary Kolodin<\/strong>, Chief Infrastructure Officer and Director of the Michigan Office of Infrastructure, expressed his satisfaction with this grant, which will prioritize bringing out-of-service chargers back online, reducing costs for drivers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Electric vehicle drivers deserve chargers that reliably power their vehicles. This Bipartisan Infrastructure Act grant from the Biden administration supports Michigan’s transition to electric vehicles and helps the state meet the goals of MI’s Healthy Climate Plan,” <\/strong>Kolodin said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bradley C. Wieferich<\/strong>, MDOT Director, was also enthusiastic about this investment, which will help expand the state’s charging network and provide Michiganians with the infrastructure needed to power their electric vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Our efforts to build Michigan’s electric vehicle infrastructure are geared toward meeting growing demand and facilitating a smooth transition to an electrified future. We are excited to work with private industry partners to create a more sustainable mobility network for generations to come,”<\/strong> Wieferich said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the release, the federal grant Michigan received is part of a national program that will allocate up to $100 million in federal funds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Latam Mobility in North America<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Latam Mobility<\/strong>, Latin America’s largest sustainable mobility community, will arrive in Monterrey on February 8<\/strong> with the “North America Mobility and Net Zero Summit 2024.”<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting will bring together industry leaders, major automotive manufacturers and prominent representatives from the public sector, who will offer perspectives and projects on sustainable mobility in Mexico and the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
