Furthermore, 24% of the fleet is more than 20 years old and needs to be renewed.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Walter C\u00f3rdova<\/strong>, Director of the ATU&#8217;s Urban Transport Integration and Collection Department, stated that collaboration between civil society, the State and the private sector is fundamental to find innovative and practical solutions that promote sustainable mobility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"542\" height=\"323\" src=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/ATU-2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-28698\" style=\"width:770px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/ATU-2.png 542w, https:\/\/latamobility.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/ATU-2-300x179.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 542px) 100vw, 542px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Photo: El Comercio Per\u00fa<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-work-plan\"><strong>Work Plan<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The ATU&#8217;s action plan contemplates projects which directly benefit the citizens, such as the promotion of <strong>Law 31596<\/strong> which, through a fleet renewal scheme with clean technologies, seeks to promote the use of more sustainable and environmentally friendly means of transportation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The official added that the extension of authorization between eight and 14 additional years are vital to encourage more operators to bet on clean energies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0It should be noted that the <strong>ATU <\/strong>has also held meetings with transport operators to standardize operating processes for electronic collection, which will also serve to offer a better service to citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The meetings seek a change of mentality towards a more technological, integrated, sustainable and environmentally friendly transportation style.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Urban Transport Authority for Lima and Callao (ATU) is promoting a series of meetings with sectors related to public transport, clean technology bus manufacturers and civil society organizations in order to promote projects.
