Latam Mobility, a leading community in the promotion of sustainable mobility in Latin America, recently held the “North America Mobility & Net Zero Summit” in the city of Monterrey, Mexico, where it brought together the most important companies and leaders linked to energy, transportation, fuels and mobility, to show the progress and prospects of the industry in Mexico, the U.S. and the region.

The meeting, which had a participation of more than 460 attendees, 70 panelists, 25 partners and allies and the presence of 25 countries, featured the presentation “Is it Possible to Design and Manufacture DC Fast Chargers in Latin America?”, which was given by Martin Gallegos, CEO of Mobility Energy, a company dedicated to the production of multiple custom applications.

Gallegos indicated that in view of the advances in electric mobility projects, there are European, Asian and North American manufacturers that are very advanced in the sector. “When we had the opportunity to install some chargers, we found that there were issues that were not resolved, so we began to make solutions and the corresponding electrical adaptations, since some were not designed for the voltages used”.

The Mobility Energy executive indicated that they have made different solutions so that the time of entry into service of a charging station is only a couple of weeks. “We made the design beforehand and adjusted it to the needs.”

In addition, he said they have a trailer that can be mobilized and connected in medium voltage, which has certified measurements, meters, transformers and other equipment. “Our goal was to have a prototype in six months to market it, although it took us a year and a half to produce it.”
